Whipped Ricotta with Honey
Whipped ricotta on toast with honey is one of those recipes that proves simple can also be spectacular. Ingredients:
8 oz of ricotta cheese approximately half of a 15 oz container.
1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream
1/2 loaf of sourdough bread
olive oil
herbs de provence seasoning
sea salt
ground pepper
honey
Instructions:
Preheat your grill pan over medium-high heat.
Prepare the toast: cut 4 pieces of bread in half. Coat the first side with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of herbs de provence, then place oiled-side down on the preheated grill pan. Repeat on the second side and grill until both sides of the bread are toasted, then remove to a platter to rest.
Using a mixer, whip ricotta cheese and heavy cream until smooth and fluffy.
Spread the whipped ricotta on the prepared toast, drizzle with honey, olive oil and a sprinkling of sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Serve immediately.
